Keeping Music Real
Music is a powerful thing. It evokes feelings and has the power to bring people together. Rising rap star doesn't need RIAA
You won’t hear up-and-coming rap star Flo Rida griping about fans pilfering his songs on P2P sites, or complain that technology is hurting the music industry. Don’t talk to him about so-called digital divides either. As one of rap music’s fastest rising stars, Rida, 28, is new enough to music success that fans are still precious [...]

The Eyeliners Biography

In 1995, three sisters from Albuquerque, NM decided to start a band. They called themselves Psychodrama. With Gel on guitar, Lisa on Bass, and Laura taking on the responsibility of drums and lead vocals the band was underway. The band played their first gig at a party only two months later. Psychodrama quickly began to gain popularity around their hometown. The band then released a Do-It-Yourself 7" called "Vivid" on their own label, PKR(Peachy Keen Records). With the girls determined to make it they booked their own tour and decided to change their name to something more unique-The Eyeliners. A few months later The Eyeliners played a show with Red Aunts. Red Aunts front women, Terri Wahl, was so impressed with the girls that she introduced them to Long Gone John at Sympathy For The Record Industry. Long Gone John liked what he heard and decided to sign them to his label. Over the next couple of years The Eyeliners released their debut album and three 7 inches.

In 1999, the girls caught the attention of Ben Weasel at Panic Button Records. Not long after that The Eyeliners signed with Panic Button Records and Lookout! Records and in March 2000 their newly recorded album "Here Comes Trouble" was released with Rave reviews. The Eyeliners then joined the Mr.. T Experience and American Steal on the Lookout! Freakout Tour in September.

After the girls returned from touring, they began working on songs for their next album "Sealed With A Kiss." It was during this time when the girls took their music and songwriting to the next level. While keeping their trademark style and attitude that they are loved for, they incorporated well-crafted pop punk songs about love and heartbreak with 50's rock 'n' roll style and attitude. Among the twelve tracks is a song called "Play It Again" a song whose lyrics are comprised of song titles of memorable punk songs and "It Could Have Been You" with Ben Weasel on guest vocals is a love song about two people who cross paths but never actually meet.

With having played over 250 shows with bands like Fugazi, L7, Flogging Molly, and The Specials, The Eyeliners have gained respect from both fans and critics. With the girls known for their energetic and unpredictable live shows this is definitely a band that you want to see live.
